Marion County kept the Buccaneers to three downs on their first possession. The Warriors’ first possession yielded a touchdown with Hunter McClain’s five-yard run. The PAT was no good. The remainder of the first quarter saw no points by either team. In the second quarter, the Warriors lost yardage due to several fouls called, but they scored again with Hunter McClain’s six-yard touchdown run close to the end of the quarter. With a good PAT, the score at the half was 13-0, Warriors.
Early in the third quarter, Warriors scored a third time with quarterback Isaiah Thompson running it in. The attempted two-point conversion was no good, bringing the score up to 19-0, Warriors. Neither team scored during the remainder of the game. That brings Marion County’s record to 6-1 going into the game at Tyner Academy Rams (1-4) in Chattanooga.
During the pregame ceremonies, members of the Chattanooga Skydiving Company entered the field from above, four in all, each carrying various flags, including a Marion County High School flag and the American flag.
