Richardson family receives Carnegie Hero Award for son

Charlie Harris presents the Carnegie Hero Award to Jeromy Richardson's parents Eddy and Robin Richardson while Jeromy's brother, Cory, looks on.

Jeromy Richardson will be long remembered locally for sacrificing his life in pursuit of trying to save others near Ketner’s Mill. Now his remembrance will join an esteemed list of much broader attention as his family recently received the Carnegie Hero Award for his efforts.

With many dignitaries on hand, as well as many friends and family members, Charlie Harris, himself a Carnegie Hero Award winner, bestowed Jeromy’s Award to his parents at a ceremony at the old county courthouse in Jasper Saturday. Though a solemn remembrance, many were pleased to see his valiant efforts recognized on such a deserving scale.
