Recently, Tower Bank in cooperation with local schools celebrated winners of the essay contest sponsored by Tower. The award, given to high school seniors is not just ceremonial, it also includes a scholarship towards the seniors' collegiate endeavors. Marion County Newspapers has confirmed that Highway 150 on the incline between Jasper and the top of the mountain (towards Tracy City) is closed because of a tractor trailer accident. The trailer has apparently pulled down power lines across the road and work crews weren't able to repair the damage safely without closing the road.

This afternoon the Tennessee House and Senate approved the IMPROVE Act in today's floor sessions.
